A conference summarizing the review and update of the preliminary flood risk assessment concerning maritime waters, including internal maritime waters

The Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation, under the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020, on November 9 organized a conference summarizing the project “Review and update of the preliminary flood risk assessment concerning maritime waters, including internal maritime waters”.

The conference was opened by Marek Gróbarczyk, Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation. The participants were also greeted by Katarzyna Krzywda, Director of the Department of Maritime Economy of the Ministry.

Introductory information related to the state of implementation of the “2.1 Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2014-202 Adaptation to climate change along with increasing resilience to natural disasters, particularly natural disasters and environmental monitoring, were presented by Joanna Książek-Wieder from the Ministry of Environment. Hanna Piasecka from the National Fund for Environment Protection and Water Management have information on the status of the implementation of projects related to flood risk assessment. The representatives of the Ministry of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation, Joanna Miszczak and Grzegorz Grządka, discussed the project “Review and update of the preliminary flood risk assessment concerning maritime waters, including internal maritime waters” and its legal basis.

Piotr Hermanowski from SWECO Consulting Sp. z o.o. discussed questionnaires to local governments related to seaward floods, and the conference was closed by Monika Mykita from IMGW-PIB, who discussed the methodology of research and the results of the preliminary assessment of flood risk concerning maritime waters, including internal maritime waters.
